1. Purpose

What is the purpose of your video? And what is the key message to achieve this?

2. Budget

What is your budget for video production? The more precise your budget, the better, as this allows indication of what shoot time, crew and resources are achievable for your project.

3. Audience

Who do you want to see your video? (Primary target, secondary targets?)

4. Platform

Where will the video be distributed? Your website? YouTube? Across social media channels? TV? Conferences? etc.

5. Deadline

Do you have a hard deadline or preferred delivery date?

6. Style References

What other films do you like and why? What elements are parallels for your project? (At least one or two links to example films are important to refer to.)

7. Ingredients

What do you expect to be the key ingredients of your video? I will offer guidance, but it's useful to know what you already have in mind: interview(s), specific scenes to be recorded, voiceover, animation?

Final cut in 1920 x 1080 HD resolution - standard 16:9 widescreen

Final cut in 3840 or 4096 x 2160 4K resolution - higher resolution widescreen

Vertical social version 1 - 1080 x 1920 - full 9:16 vertical video for socials (eg. Instagram reels)

Vertical social version 2 - 1080 x 1350 - 4:5 'portrait' vertical video for socials (this is the maximum size an Instagram post appears in the feed)

Captions for all - burnt-in English captions that permanently appear in the video across all deliverables

Captions for socials - burnt-in English captions that permanently appear in the social edits of the video (advisable for all social media uses)

Cutdowns / Teasers - do you require snippet edits of your video as well as the overall final cut?
