I'm a filmmaker based in Bristol, UK, working internationally.
I combine original storytelling, immersive audiovisuals and smart distribution to create videos with impact.
Whether you are an experienced producer, or are new to video production and need guidance from start to finish, I can help bring these ideas to life for your project. I offer full-service video production that is authentic, engaging, and beautifully crafted.
My films have won awards at festivals, featured on National Geographic, and received millions of views online. Admittedly, so has a video of a man putting an iPad in a blender, but there you go...

My portfolio includes charity films, campaign videos, video interviews and other online content for companies, universities, musicians and artists.
I’ve worked with clients from multinational companies to primary schools, and enjoy bringing the same skills of careful listening, clear communication and eye-catching cinematography to every project.
The work on my website is split into documentary video production and promotional video production, though often my styles are hybrid. Telling a good story with compelling sound and visuals is the best way to engage audiences, whatever the project.
I can offer end-to-end film production management, working with clients from concept to delivery, or I can bring my creative approach to your video brief.

I’m available for commissions in Bristol, London and internationally. I have worked in Canada, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Nepal, Tanzania and the USA amongst others, on subjects ranging from rainforest conservation to education inequality, and tribal land rights to urban community gardening. I’m at home working in corporate offices as well as mountain villages.

As a freelance filmmaker, I offer a bespoke video production service for a range of projects. Working with me has the benefit of a personal approach, where I will listen carefully to understand the needs of your project.
You’ll often find me working as a director of a team. I have a network of talented and reliable specialists to build a crew if your project needs it - from multi-camera, to intricate sound design and drone cinematography.
Other times, I work as a solo video producer filming interviews or documentary portraits.
If you like the style of my work, get in touch and we can see if I'm a good fit for your project.

Funny you ask. These succinct comments landed in my inbox completely unprompted.
“The videos Ross created were exceptional and, as part of a larger campaign, won several Digital Impact Awards. We had no hesitation hiring Ross again." - Alinka Brutsch, Communications Officer at UNAIDS, formerly The Africa Progress Panel
“Ross is - hands-down - the best filmmaker I’ve come across, creating stories with audio and visuals that are sensitive to context, audience, and impact. Before you know it, Ross can articulate the story more simply and eloquently than you can, and that is because he listens and learns, intently. “ - Ranjita Rajan, Founder of the Karta Initiative
"Ross's camera and edit work is thoughtful, precise and intelligent. He prepares meticulously. He is excellent with sound and lighting, even in tricky environments with minimal kit. We've sent him to interview primary school kids in the UK and Kofi Annan in Geneva, and they all loved him." - Tom Dyson, Co-founder of Torchbox
"Ross has been outstanding to work with for our short company video. He was very responsive to our views on how to tell the story. But he was also happy to present his own suggestions, and tell us where he thought we were getting it wrong. Overall, we were really happy with the outcome." - Alex Money, Co-founder of Oxford Earth Observation
Right, that’s quite enought of that…

The questions you need to answer first are:
What is the goal of your video production? Who is your audience? What platform(s) do you expect it to be shown on? And what is your budget?
I’d be happy to talk over any of these if you’d like to get in touch.
